Collin County's budget and finance departments receive national praise

Collin County’s budget and finance department was recently recognized nationally for “meeting the highest principles for governmental budgeting” in its annual presentation on how taxpayers’ dollars are spent locally.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada lauded the county last month for publishing a Distinguished Budget Presentation, singling out Assistant Director of Budget and Finance Monika Arris for heading the report’s production.
GFOA officials stated that the 480-page report for fiscal year 2007 served as an “excellent example for other governments throughout North America.” The award marked the third year in a row that the county department has been singled out for its budget presentation. The report, along with the Collin County Capital Improvement Program and the Budget-in-Brief can be viewed online at the Budget & Finance Department’s Web site.
