Rec-N-Roll for third- through sixth-graders will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Joe Farmer Recreation Center, 1201 E. Bethany. The event will feature an evening of games, contests, gym activities, dancing and prizes. Cost is $8. Advance registration is $3, and an ID card is required.

The McKinney Youth Theatre will present Disney's A High School Musical at 7:15 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12 at the Heard Craig Hall, 306 N. Church Street in McKinney. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door.
