Due to inclement weather Celebration of Athletes presented by Capital One at 6 p.m., tomorrow, Jan. 13, is being moved to Frisco Conference Center at 7600 Gaylord Parkway adjacent to the Embassy Suites.
The event will celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and community with a traditional Olympic-style parade of the athletes, presentation of past American Olympians and lighting of a 15’ cauldron. Fireworks and the “real snow” have been canceled. All children’s activities in the Winter Village remain including live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting and more.
The event is free with a donation of a canned food item benefiting Frisco Family Services and North Texas Food Bank. Advance tickets and food collection are available at Capitol One locations in Frisco and at Gatti Town in Frisco.

A free Old-Timers reunion, for people who lived in Allen prior to 1980, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 17 in the cafeteria at Allen High School. According to organizer Tammy Strong DeVinny, it will be a very informal gathering... just the opportunity for everyone to get together and chat and enjoy each others company. So pass the word on to friends/family that have since moved away.
