The McKinney Musical Arts Society will present pianist Jessica Zhu, former Wysong/Joplin Young Artist Competition grand prize winner, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Heard-Craig Performance Center.
At 7:30 p.m. catch opening music performed by Allen violinists, Sarah Gilbert and Laura Gilbert, and percussionist Austin Allen of McKinney. Adult tickets are $20, student tickets $5.

McKinney Performing Arts Center and McKinney Kamergild will present Mirabel, a period string quartet, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 at Noble Hall auditorium, 111 N. Tennessee Street in McKinney.

Collin County Community College will host a free Skywarn Conference, presented by the National Weather Service, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Topics will include weather safety, spotter operations, the Westminster Tornado, amateur radio and more.
Join Collin County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) with its partners, the cities of Allen, Frisco, Lucas, McKinney and Plano.

The Texas Education Agency has released the 2005-06 Academic Excellence Indicator System report. This report provides extensive information about school district and campus academic performance, finance, student and staff demographics across the state. A public hearing of the Allen ISD annual report including the AEIS report will be conducted as part of the 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, Board of Trustees meeting at council chambers in Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway.
