Lowery Freshman Center performing arts students will present Footloose the Musical, with performances at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1- 3 in the LFC Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Watch dogs show off tomorrow


Greater Collin Kennel Club Dog Agility Trials will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at Myers Park and Event Center, 7117 County Road 166 in McKinney. Free.

Garden club to meet Thursday

The Allen Garden Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at 102 N. Allen Drive. Claude Graves, expert rosarian and member of the Collin County Rose Society and the American Rose Society, will give a presentation on Old Garden Roses. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Special Olympics banquet on the horizon

The annual Special Olympics dinner and silent auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Plano Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Tickets are $40 per person in advance or $50 at the door. Tables for eight are available, as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities.

Free workshop for parents of college-bound kids

CCCC will present Destination College, a free workshop for parents of college-bound students, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
The workshop will include information on financial aid, standardized tests, academic expectations and the admissions process. Parents in attendance whose students are planning to attend will be entered in a drawing for tuition scholarships.
The workshop is free, however reservations are required. A light dinner will be served.
