Senior center to host free tax help

Allen Senior Recreation Center will offer free AARP tax aid with Al Holmes, providing tax preparation and e-filing services from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Feb, 8 and 22, March 1, 15, and 29, and April 12. Open to members and non-members. Sign-up sheets will be available beginning at 8 a.m. each date.

Collin County History Museum needs your help

The Collin County History Museum needs docents and front desk help. Volunteer tour guides will work with students weekday mornings during the 2006-07 school year through May 2007. Guides would give brief 10 to 15-minute introductions, help with activities such as gallery scavenger hunts and general traffic flow. Training will be provided. The museum is located at 300 E. Virginia St.

Business after hours networking today

Allen Chamber of Commerce Business Wrap-Up, a monthly business after-hours event, will be held at 5 p.m. today, Feb. 1, at Capital One, 1811 E. Bethany Drive. There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony. Enjoy refreshments, door prizes and networking. Reservations are not required and admission is free.
