Longtime Allen residents are invited to attend the Allen Old Timers Reunion at Allen High School on Saturday, March 17. The reunion is open to Allen residents who lived in Allen prior to 1980 along with their families. Visit the Allen ISD website to find out more.

Oklahoma or bust

In case you missed it, the DMN reports that a major new development is going up north of McKinney. The 208-acre complex in the Grayson County town of Howe at U.S. 75 and FM 902 will include 468 single-family homes, apartments and retail. Chocolate decadence

The food world continues to gasp in disbelief over the extravagantly priced goodies from Noka, a chocolate company founded in Plano. According to the latest report in The New York Times, a pound of the company's bon-bons would come to $693, or $2,000 for a similar quantity in gift boxes.

Singer Jim Gill coming to Lowery


Allen ISD will present singer Jim Gill and his banjo at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at the Lowery Freshman Center Auditorium, 120 N. Jupiter Road. Tickets are $4 children, $6 adults and can be ordered online at www.allenisd.org. Click on Community Education under Hot Topics.
