Quad C Theatre will be holding an open casting call for the play How I Learned to Drive by Robin Armstrong from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the Black Box Theatre, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Three women and two men will be cast.

Genesis Women's Shelter will hold its First Priority Lecture Series 2007. The event includes lunch and a series of four educational seminars about timely women's safety issues. Each lecture in the series will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Willow Bend Maggiano's Little Italy, 6001 W. Park Blvd. in Plano. Tickets start at $250.

In an aggressive effort to curb pet overpopulation, the SPCA of Texas will be hosting “Neuter Scooter for a Nickel.” All three of the SPCA of Texas' clinics will neuter male cats for just five cents Tuesday, Feb. 27. Appointments are required. To sign up, call 214-742-7722. The Collin County clinic is located at 8411 Stacy Road in McKinney.
