In celebration of African-American history month, CCCCD 2006-07 Auteur Film Series will present a screening of the Spike Lee movie Bamboozled at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb 19 at the Spring Creek Campus, Room C104, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. The event is free and open to the public.

The Special Olympics Special Angels Among Us auction and dinner annual fundraiser, to benefit Allen ISD students, will be held at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Plano Center, 2000 E. Join Allen Mayor Steve Terrell and crew from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow at the Connemara Meadow, located at Alma and Bethany off Old Tatum Road.
Volunteers are needed to remove trash and debris that have accumulated in and around the Meadow over the past year. Bring gloves and work boots. Pickers, trash bags, disposable equipment and water will be provided. Prizes will be awarded for Most Trash and Most Unusual Piece of Trash.

The Allen Retired Educators Association will meet at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19 at Ralph & Kacoo's Restaurant at 401 Central Expressway in Allen. Retired educators are encouraged to attend. Melva Hill and Friends will be doing a humorous skit titled Crowns for the Ladies.

Forest Grove Christian Church will host the first of its Get in The Groove Benefit Concert Series and a silent auction at 7 p.m. tomorrow at 2542 Country Club Road in Lucas. Musicians include guitarist John Wynn, John Adams and Steve Story. Proceeds go to Allen Community Outreach Capital Fund. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door. Children’s activities will be available.

Third Monday Trade Days market will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17 and 18 at Highway 380, two miles west of U.S. 75 in McKinney. Offerings include antiques, collectibles, food and more. Admission is free. Parking will be $3.
