According to the site, "The Army Corps of Engineers operates 15 lakeside parks with boat ramps and other facilities." In these troubled times, Americans must pull together and do what they do best: Buy tons of stuff that they will probably never use. It's a difficult responsibility, we know, but at least Allen residents can turn to this handy online guide to all the sales at the Allen Premium Outlets. The Allen Senior Recreation Center will host free AARP tax aid with Al Holmes, who will provide tax preparation and e-filing services at the Allen Public Library every Monday from noon to 3 p.m. through April 17. Tax services will also be provided from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursdays, Feb. 22, March 1, 15, 29, and April 12 at the center, 351 St. Mary Drive. These seminars are open to members and non-members of any age. Sign-up sheets will be available beginning at 8 a.m. each date.

Allen Chamber of Commerce will host Eggs and Issues, presenting elected officials and local leaders from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at On the Border restaurant, 213 Central Expressway North. CCCCD will present 2007 Monopoly Madness at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at Mustang Café, The Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park Blvd. in Plano. This fast-paced version of the game raises funds for scholarships. Live music, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
