Bid now to help orphans

The local chapter of Hug Internationally is holding an online silent auction to benefit the orphans in Romania. Especially targeted now is the Grandmother Program, which has lost eight out of 13 grandmothers because of low funding. These surrogates hold and care for the children who otherwise would have no physical touch, hence the name HUG. The silent auction will also help worthy families that want to adopt internationally but don't have enough funds. Bidding ends Tuesday, Feb 27.

More shade for Allen students

The Allen ISD dropped us an email the other day about how one of their campuses is keeping it green.
Kerr Elementary recently received a $1,000 grant from Lowe's for a beautification project, using the money to plant two live oak trees on Feb. 10.
