Rec-N-Roll for third- through sixth-graders will be at Joe Farmer Recreation Center, 1201 E. Bethany, from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday. Allen author, Randy Black will be signing copies of his new book, Tales from Siberia next week. If you miss him then you can catch him again the following week.
Next week he will be signing books at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 at the Russian Banya at 2515 E. Rosemeade Parkway, Suite 401 in Carrollton.
The following week Black will sign copies of his book from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Russian Banya at 2515 E. Rosemeade Parkway, Suite 401 in Carrollton.

The public is invited to join Suncreek United Methodist Church for the Palmer Studies in the faith lecture series featuring Bishop Scott J. Jones of the Kansas Area Conference. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25. The lecture begins at 6:45 p.m. The series concludes Monday with dinner at 6 p.m. and the lecture at 6:45 p.m. Both sessions are free. Dinner is $9 for adults and $6 for children ages 5-12. Children younger than 5 are free. Free childcare will also be available for children ages 10 and younger. Registration is required. North Collin County Habitat for Humanity will host its annual Taste of Collin County, Taste the World fundraiser from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at Collin County Regional Airport, 1500 E. Industrial Blvd. in McKinney. TSample food from local restaurants and take part in a live and silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Keep Allen Beautiful Arbor Day celebration begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Allen Station Park, 1120 N. Cedar Drive. Wear your sneakers and help plant a grove of Pecan trees. Rock out to the music and take home local crafts and a new tree. Trees not sold during Trees for Allen reforestation program will be available on a first-come basis for only $35. The Allen Chamber of Commerce Women in Support of Enterprise and Presbyterian Hospital will sponsor a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Hilton Garden Inn. Chef Michael Youngblood will talk about Quick and Healthy Meals. Cost is $20 for members and $45 for non-members.
