Historian to speak

Allen Heritage Guild and Friends of the Allen Public Library as part of their Bach to Books series will host architectural historian and speaker, Virginia McAlester, author of A Field Guide to American Houses at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 at 300 N. Allen Drive. The event is free.

American Idle at local restaurant

Little off the Square Theater will present their own version of American Idol, dubbed American Idle, by director Jesse Nichols at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at El Chico, 1222 N. Central Expressway in McKinney. Tickets are $37.50 which includes dinner and a champagne toast. Reservations are required.
