Eat well for a good cause

Tin Star Restaurant, 1008 W. McDermott Drive, will make a contribution to The Allen Retired Educators Association scholarship fund for each meal purchase the evening of Tuesday, March 20.

An excuse to put on that glitter shamrock headband

Allen Senior Recreation Center will host Lunch O’ the Irish, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at noon this Friday. Come dressed in green and enjoy traditional Irish cuisine and activities followed by Irish sing-a-longs and games. Door prizes also will be awarded. The cost is $6.

Don't forget to show up for the reunion

An Old-Timers Reunion, for people who lived in Allen prior to 1980, will be hosted from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the cafeteria at Allen High School, 300 Rivercrest Blvd. Free admission.

Golf clinic offered

Allen Parks and Recreation will present a golf clinic for seniors age 50 and older at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at Chase Oaks Golf Club, 7201 Chase Oaks Blvd. The cost is $11.
